On today's episode of two minutes of motivation, we are going to dive deep into how to boost your confidence before a big event or a stressful situation.
I had a great conversation with Matt Higgins this week, and if you haven't checked it out, I highly recommend you do. He shared some great insights into how he dealt with being a shark on shark tank and overcoming that negative, inner voice.
It was so great. It inspired me to spend some time with you today on this topic of boosting your confidence before a big event.
So here are some tips that can help you get ready to show up as your best self. No matter what the event is.
I was super excited yesterday. I was pulled up on a clubhouse stage with Amy Cuddy and Amy Cuddy if you haven't heard of her, she has a great Ted talk because she talks about this power pose. So this power pose is all about building your confidence by using your body. So before you're going into an event or a stressful situation, Stand in a power pose and that actually can help boost your confidence.
The second tip is, remember some of your previous successes, look back in your life at times where maybe you've been a little bit nervous and you did a great job. You ended up getting what you were hoping for and the outcome is really great because if you remember that, before you go into a new situation that actually can boost your confidence and you're going to be more likely to show up empowered and the audience or whoever it is you're talking to will notice.
Now, the third thing you can do is use music. So listening to motivating music that empowers you is a really great way to get you in the mindset to nail it, whatever it is, you're, you're going into there.
And the fourth thing is you can use affirmations. Now, this is not necessarily for everyone, but some people really love affirmations. I personally enjoy them. So saying some things that are going to make you feel good and get you into that mindset for success.
So to recap, make sure you grab a pen and write this down to boost your confidence before a stressful event, you can use a power pose. You can remember a previous time where you excelled.You can listen to some motivating music. And you can use affirmations.
