Episode Transcript:

In today's episode of two minutes of motivation, we are going to be talking about redefining success.

I had a really wonderful conversation with Paul Getter this week. And Paul shared that he knows people who are making a lot of money, but they're miserable and unhealthy. I've seen this too, and it really made me want to take some time with you today to dive deeper into this topic and to redefine success in a way that is up empowering and uplifting for you.

Here's one thing that I think can be a real big problem for a lot of people. If you have a goal or a vision for your life or some sort of achievement that you're working towards, linking your fulfillment to that external achievement is really setting yourself up for unhappiness, because when you do achieve that goal, it's going to feel good, but it's going to feel good for a short period of time. It will not lead to long lasting fulfillment.

So what does lead to long lasting fulfillment and how can you reframe your view of success to incorporate that? One thing that I've noticed is that people tend to sacrifice their wellbeing on their way to achieving their vision of success. And I really believe that if you reframe success to incorporate wellbeing, you are setting yourself up for happiness.

So your wellbeing is a priority and your wellbeing is also a huge, huge component of success. Fulfillment is an inside job. So taking time on a regular basis to do things that uplift and empower you and to enjoy the journey. That is what it's all about. If you enjoy the journey, still have fun with those achievements, but don't tie your fulfillment and your happiness to those that I think is really the answer to leading a happy, fulfilling nourishing life.

So to recap, couple of things that I want you to think about One, are you making sure that you're optimizing and prioritizing your well-being on your way to success? And are you linking your fulfillment to those external achievements? Because if you are, it is so important that you shift that perspective so that you enjoy the journey.

I hope that this helps you. And until next time, this is Kristel Bauer with Live Greatly inspiring you to awaken your ultimate potential.
