Summer European Adventure in the Swiss Alps at The Chedi Andermatt, Switzerland

Anticipation was building as my family and I arrived in Zurich, Switzerland after a 9 hour flight from Miami, Florida. We were heading to a town in the Swiss Alps called Andermatt. I had heard about Andermatt a couple of years prior when I asked an employee at a European bakery in Illinois if they had any suggestions for spots to visit in Switzerland. They wrote down a town called Andermatt and after searching it up and finding out about the Chedi Andermatt, I knew it was on my need to visit list. As we made the approximately 2 hour drive from the Zurich Airport to the Chedi, we drove through the mountains passing breathtaking sparkling blue lakes filled with sailboats. It was an unreal drive. Our excitement was palpable and our expectations were high as we arrived at the Chedi Andermatt.

A peak into our view as we drove from Zurich to Andermatt, Switzerland.

Arriving at the Chedi Andermatt

After around 14 hours of traveling we were blown away by the Chedi upon arrival! The views were amazing and the hotel itself was beautiful. We received a complimentary upgrade to a Deluxe Suite and there were so many unique touches and architectural details that made it unique and memorable.

Time to Explore

After a good night’s sleep and an incredible breakfast at the Chedi’s morning buffet (which included a cheese room!) we took a gondola up to the Swiss Alps for some hiking and adventure.

Incredible Views

We spent about 2 hours walking the trails and looking out at the mountains and waterfalls. After we had our fill of adventure we decided to head back to the Chedi to enjoy the pool and spa.

Amenities at the Chedi

The indoor and outdoor pool at the Chedi was incredibly unique and elegant and we enjoyed swimming and rotating between the two! The Chedi also has a beautiful spa area including a sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy and a cold plunge.

Time to Say Goodbye

After spending 2 nights at the Chedi Andermatt it was time to leave to continue our European adventure with our next destination, Austria. I was thoroughly impressed with my experience at the Chedi and I would absolutely love to come back and visit in the winter season!
