In today's episode of two minutes of motivation. I'm going to be sharing with you four relaxation practices to support your mind and body. I chatted with Lee Holden this week. He is a master in Qi Gong and that got me thinking about the importance of taking care of our nervous systems and helping reduce our stress response. So the first thing that you can do, if you're looking to relax is to do a practice like yoga or Qi Gong where you're incorporating movement and synchronizing it with. Breath, when you're able to really slow down your breath and correlate your breath with movement that activates your relaxation response.
Lee has some great videos that you can access and check those out. And there's so many different yoga practices and poses that you can do. One of my favorite one is just doing some cat cows and making sure that I'm sinking my breath with my. Now the second thing that you can do to get a quick relaxation response is to do a short body scan, start at the top of your head or the tip of your toes, and then make your way either up or down your body, relaxing your muscles as you go. This is so incredibly amazing to help you get back into your body. Anchored into the present moment and to relax muscle tension that you've probably didn't even realize was there because when you're working throughout the day, when you're stressed, you're likely clenching your muscles. So this is a great exercise to help relax.
Now the third thing is using aroma therapy using different sense. That's a great way to induce relaxation. I like sense like bergamot lavender. Those are really soothing. Another thing that I absolutely have been loving are Vega Moore's shampoo and conditioner products. Vega Mar is the sponsor for this show and they. Amazing. So it makes my experience with washing my hair really incredible, and they use Bergamont in their shampoo and conditioner. And that is one of the reasons I absolutely love it. But you can think about having aroma therapy in your bath products as well. Or if you take a bath using some scented salts or oils for that experience.
And then the last thing that I want to share is to try doing a walking meditation. This is one of my favorite things to do because if you can get outside of Jewett, you're getting exposure to nature. And then you're also doing a mindfulness practice and you're getting movement in. So walking meditation as well. Focused and each step anchored in the present moment. You're not focused on getting somewhere you're focused on being in your body with each step. So you can also synchronize it slowly to your breath. And this is so incredibly relaxing and you don't have to do it for a long time. You can take five minutes to do a walking meditation and it can have a really powerful impact.
So again, the four things are number one, she gong. Number two, doing a body scan, number three, using aroma therapy in number four, walking meditation. I hope that this helps until next time. This is Kristel Bauer with live greatly inspiring you to awaken your ultimate potential.
