Episode Transcript

In today's episode of two minutes of motivation, we're going to be talking about core values and how you can realign with what's important to you. I had a really interesting conversation this week with Kute Blackson. If you haven't had a chance to check that out, I highly recommend you do, because it's going to build off of today's episode.

A lot of times in life, we can get caught up in the hustle and in the hecticness of everyday matters and we can sometimes lose the deeper meaning and purpose of what we are here to do. And what is important to us. I want you to take some time today to reflect on what is meaningful to you and what your core values are.

Maybe you've done this before. Maybe you haven't, but really what you want to try and do is grab a piece of paper, grab a pen. Find a quiet space where you can reflect and think about what are things that are truly important to you. It could be your family. It could be adventure, could be being out in nature or spirituality.

There are so many different things that could be on your core values list. So write those things down. That's the first. And the second step is to spend some time reflecting on whether or not you're living in alignment with those core values. And don't judge yourself, do this from a place of curiosity.

And this is going to help you understand if there are areas in your life where you need to realign. The third step is to start creating an action plan. So if you found that you have areas in your life where you're not living in alignment with your core values. Now it's time to figure out how can you shift that?

What is something you can do to start living more in alignment with your core values? So an example would be, let's say maybe your family is a core value, and you decide that you haven't spent as much time with your kids as you'd like. So you can make an intention for today when you go home, to spend time in uninterrupted with your kids, with your phone set aside where you're going to practice mindfulness and be fully present.

There are so many different ways that you can integrate more of your core values into your life. So spend some time reflecting on this. And again, the first step is to figure out what are your core values? The second step is to ask yourself if you're living in alignment with them and discover where you are, where you're not.

And the third is to create an action plan. I hope that this helps you until next time. This is Kristel Bauer with Live Greatly. Inspiring you to awaken your ultimate potential.
