In today's episode of two minutes of motivation, we're going to be chatting about cranking up your self-care. I had a really great conversation this week with Dr. Monisha Bhanote and we chatted about women's health, about breast cancer prevention and a lot of really interesting topics that got me thinking about self-care.

I'm going to be sharing three different ways you can add more self-care into your life.

The first way is by adding it into your morning routine, getting up a little bit earlier and adding in something like going outside for a walk, getting natural morning light exposure, meditating, doing some breathing exercises. That is a wonderful way to set the stage for your entire day.

The second way is by adding micro self-care breaks throughout the day. So whether you're working, whether you're with your kids, taking little breaks throughout the day is a great way to help your nervous system reboot and those little breaks, just make sure they are not work related.

So it could be going for a walk outside. It could be meditating, it could be doing a body scan. It could be dancing. You know, there's so many different things, but just make sure that it's not work-related, could be going for a walk with a friend or calling a friend. So lots of options there.

The third thing is having a really healthy nourishing evening routine. So when you're going to sleep, you want to be in a restful, peaceful state so that you can really fall asleep easily and have restorative rejuvenative sleep. Throughout the day our nervous systems activated a lot of times, we're overstimulated from our phones, from technology, from light and calming down our nervous systems before bed is so important.

So that could mean listening to some calming music. It could be doing a brief meditation, something that's going to help you calm down and relax. So again, the three things are adding in a really helpful morning routine. Taking those micro self-care breaks and getting a really nourishing evening routine before bed.

I hope that this helps. And until next time, this is Kristel Bauer with Live Greatly inspiring you to awaken your ultimate potential.
