I'm excited to share more of this podcast episode with you, but first, a quick word about our sponsor. This podcast episode is brought to you in collaboration with the national sleep foundation.

It's time to be your best slept self. The national sleep foundation advances, sleep health and wellbeing through education and advocacy. They've been studying and reporting on sleep for over 30 years. Sleep awareness week in 2022 is March 13th through the 19th and every year, NSF takes this time to reemphasize the important connection between your sleep and your health.

This year, they are helping you become your best slept self. Today many Americans are not getting the sleep that they need to live their healthiest lives, the national sleep foundation's annual sleep in America poll indicates that good sleep is within everyone's reach. The 2022 poll show sleep is a process that starts long before bedtime and is influenced by key daytime activities, including light exposure, meal regularity, stress and physical activity.

In today's episode of two minutes of motivation, I'm going to be sharing four steps that may supports you in overcoming guilt. I chatted this week on the podcast with Emilie Hebert.

We talked about having a healthy relationship with food and overcoming the guilt associated with food. So I wanted to dive a little deeper and navigating guilt and share some tips that I have found helpful.

So the first step, when you're trying to overcome a feeling of guilt, is to ask yourself what lesson is there for you to learn. If you're able to take a lesson away from the experience, it helps you move forward. So spending a little time reflecting on that if something keeps resurfacing, ask yourself what lesson there was for you to learn and reflect on whether or not you've incorporated that lesson into your life.

The second thing would be to express gratitude. Gratitude for the lesson, gratitude for where you are now.

The third step is to then be present. Come back to the present moment. Let go of the past, you've gained the lesson, you're incorporating it into your life. You're thankful for all that you've learned and it's time to let it go.

And then the last step is to give yourself love and appreciation and compassion for how far you have come. So again, these four things are number one, learn, learn what there was for you to learn. Number two, express gratitude. Number three, come back to the present moment and let go of the past. And number four, show yourself love and compassion.

I hope that this helps you. And until next time, this is Kristel Bauer with Live Greatly inspiring you to awaken your ultimate potential.
