Episode Transcript

In today's episode of two minutes of motivation. I'm going to be sharing four potentially life-changing lifestyle tips. I chatted this week with Dr. William Li. He shared some incredible insights into food, nutrition, and so much more. So if you haven't checked out that episode, I highly recommend that you do.

So the first tip that I want to talk about today is increasing plant-based foods and lowering inflammatory foods. Your diet, nutrition has such a profound impact on your mental health, on your physical health, and on your overall well-being. So if you're able to incorporate better for you, food choices, more plants, higher fiber foods, that can have a really profound impact on how you feel. And inflammatory foods: things like pizza and hamburgers and French fries and chips and cookies and sweets; all of that, trying to minimize it. So just with some simple dietary changes, you can have a really big impact. And Dr. Li, again, shared some really great insights in that episode if you would like to check that out.

Now the second tip is to move your body. Movement and physical activity are so incredibly important for your overall well-being, and they're also really great stress reducers. So incorporating movement into your day is so important. So if you're busy at work, taking time, setting time aside to move, and then also having some sort of a regimen where you're able to get exercise in on a regular basis and make sure to always talk to your healthcare provider about recommendations or any restrictions specific to you.

Now, the third thing is to make high-quality sleep a priority. Our sleep is a critical component to our well-being, and sometimes it’s overlooked. So setting aside ample time to get high-quality, a great night's sleep and making sure that you give yourself time to wind down in the evening and having exposure to bright light in the morning and dim light in the evening is one simple way to help support optimal sleep.

Now, number four is focused on developing high-quality nurturing relationships, dedicate time and energy to building your relationships, and making sure you're taking care of your relationships. Build a sense of community and connection. Relationships have such a significant impact on how we feel and our overall well-being.

So again, these four potentially life-changing lifestyle tips: number one, increase plant-based foods, reduce inflammatory foods; two, move your body; three, make high-quality sleep a priority; and four, focus on having high-quality relationships.

I hope that this helps you. And until next time, this is Kristel Bauer with Live Greatly, inspiring you to awaken your ultimate potential.
