Episode Transcript

In today's episode of two minutes of motivation, I'm going to be talking about three different ways that you can really work on setting healthy boundaries. This is a pain point for a lot of people. It can be a struggle to stand up for yourself and to set those boundaries. I get it. And I chatted with Shannon Bex this week.

That was a really great episode. And we tapped into this topic a little bit, and I want to expand on it with you today. First way that you really can start to set healthy boundaries is you need to figure out what you want. What is important to you? What do you value that is going to help you set priorities with how to delegate your time and your energy.

So it starts with knowing yourself, okay that takes himself reflection. Understanding your core values. But once you have that, you really then can understand where you need to say yes, where you need to say no, where you need to be able to put your time to feel the most fulfilled. The second step is you have to get comfortable saying, no, this can take some practice, but the more that you know yourself, the more that you're going to be able to feel confident and comfortable saying no to things that you really don't want to do, or that don't serve you in that moment.

And that also makes space to say yes to things that you really want to do that light you up that make you feel your best. So that's number two. Now the third thing is you really want to be able to communicate. You have to be comfortable being honest and communicating your needs and your wants and recognize that these things can change.

The boundary setting can be flexible and boundaries may need to be set at one point in your life can shift. So to recap, the first thing you need to do is to get clear on what's important to you, get clear on your values and that will help you prioritize where to place your time and your energy. The second thing is you have to get comfortable saying no, that can take some practice.

Don't worry about it. The more you do it, the easier it will get. The third thing is you have to be able to communicate your needs and your wants and recognize that boundaries can be flexible depending on the time in your life.

I hope that this helps you. And until next time, this is Kristel Bauer with Live Greatly empowering you to awaken your ultimate goals.
