In today's episode of two minutes of motivation, I'm going to be sharing with you three tips to help encourage nutritious eating for your children and your family. I chatted this week with Daphne Oz and we had such a great conversation about making mealtimes fun, adventurous and nutritious. Daphne and I also chatted about trying to encourage our children to eat nutritious food. And that got me thinking about this topic. I want to take a little time to share some ideas with you today.
So the first idea is to include your family and your children in the process of cooking, picking out a recipe and going to the grocery store. So make it a fun experience where you together as a family with your kids can pick out something new, go to the store, pick out fresh produce, fresh protein, and then prepare it together.
This not only can be a great way to add more nutritious foods into your life, but it also is really wonderful for connection.
The second idea is to give your family members and your children choices when you're incorporating new things that they haven't seen before.
So if you want to have your children or your family, try out some new vegetables, give them some options to pick from and help them feel empowered.
The third idea is to make sure that you're allowing your family members and your children to not have huge portions to start with when they're trying these new things.
This is something that Daphne talked about on the show. And I really liked this idea of allowing your children to serve themselves when they're trying a new dish. So if you're trying a new healthier recipe, nutritious food, just have the expectation that they're going to need to taste it and try it and then hopefully they like it and they want more.
So I hope that this helps. The three ideas again are number one, include your family and children in the preparation, in the shopping, in the picking out of the recipe and the whole process. The second idea is to give your family members and children choices when it comes to these nutritious options. And the third idea is to have the expectation that your family and children just try it with something new.
I hope that this helps. Until next time, this is Kristel Bauer with Live Greatly inspiring you to awaken your ultimate potential.
