In today's episode of two minutes of motivation, I'm going to be sharing with you 3 healthy habits that can change your life. I chatted with Yuri Elkhaim this week. We talked a lot about healthy habits, and I want to go a little deeper into this topic to give you a few things that you can do to start moving in the right direction.

The first healthy habit that can be a game changer is to set a really healthy, empowering morning routine. In the morning we set the stage for our entire day. So if you are frantically getting out of bed, feeling overwhelmed, trying to take care of things around the house, your family, get yourself ready for work, checking your phone, seeing upsetting headlines and all the rest of it. You're going to start your day off. Feeling frantic, anxious and not empowered. What we really want to do is the opposite of that.

So taking time to really ground yourself in the morning, to set your intentions for how you want to show up throughout the day, prioritize what's important. And you can do that by taking some time to yourself, to do things that you enjoy.

And that could look like meditation, it could be some sort of mindfulness practice, could be going outside for a walk, could be journaling or writing things down that you're grateful for, or just sitting, reading something you enjoy with your cup of coffee. Exercise. There's so many different things that you can do, but setting time aside in the morning just for you, can change your entire day and ultimately your life.

The second thing that you want to pay attention to when you're trying to create healthy habits is reducing the mindless phone checking. For our phones, have a lot of control over us, whether we like to admit it or not. I definitely fall into this category so I can relate if you find yourself checking your phone when you're not really fully aware that you're even doing it. What you can do to try and have healthier boundaries with your phone and healthier habits with your phone is to make sure that your phone is not next to you or in the same room as you, when you're trying to get things done. So if you're trying to be productive throughout the day, you're trying to get work done have your phone in a different area.

Same thing with sleeping, if you are going to bed and you have your phone next to your bed, well, when you wake up, you're probably going to grab it and look at it right away. So try and have your phone in a different area than we are sleeping to avoid grabbing your phone first thing in the morning and checking your phone right before bed.

The third, a healthy habit is to make sure that you are moving your body throughout the day. Sitting all day is not good for your physical health or your mental health. So get into the habit of moving regularly. Every 30 minutes would be ideal to get up to move or possibly consider having a standing desk, take your meetings while going for walks, but regardless, find a way to add more movement into your day.

So these three healthy habits that can change your life include number one, getting a solid morning routine, number two, having healthy boundaries with your phone and trying to check your phone less  and number three, moving more and sitting less.

I hope that this helps. Until next time, this is Kristel Bauer with Live Greatly inspiring you to awaken your ultimate potential.
